June 2016 - Cobbler's Children (Video)

Many of you will be familiar with the phrase "the cobbler's children have no shoes". It often applies to people who are successful at doing something in their business lives for customers but don't use that same ability for themselves.

I imagine that there are great engineers whose domestic projects are all over the place, website designers with outdated personal homepages, PR and marketing firms which no one has ever heard of, and so on.
I wonder why this is? Some say it can be a symptom of workaholic tendencies where we don't spend time and energy doing things unless they can be seen to generate income.
Some business people we know are also guilty of not practising what they preach and we are no exception; TKA was once described as the best kept secret in Hereford! However at a local business expo recently Sharon was fortunate enough to win a 60 second corporate video together with some social media promotion courtesy of Claire Wozencroft at www.v8media.co.uk
Sharon and I are constantly telling our clients that they need to get out there using all appropriate methods of promotion suitable for their business. But needless to say this was our first foray into this sort of exercise for our own business. We had an interesting morning of filming, re-filming and re-filming with the hugely professional and very patient Terry www.corpfilms.co.uk

We have not received any BAFTA nominations yet and we don't expect any (watch us here). So if you are passionate about the products and or services that you offer to enrich the lives of your customers, perhaps it would be an idea to do some of the same for yourself?
